Swiss Crypto Valley Explodes: +37% Funding Growth in 2025

Switzerland Confirms Its Status as Global Blockchain Hub

While the crypto sector navigates turbulent waters, Switzerland stands out as an exception. The Zug region, nicknamed “Crypto Valley,” recorded an impressive 37% surge in funding in 2025, accumulating $728 million across 31 transactions.

To put things in perspective: it’s as if the region is throwing a party while other crypto hotspots around the globe struggle to find investors. And honestly, the numbers speak for themselves.

TON Blockchain: The Surprise Star

It’s the TON blockchain (The Open Network) that stole the spotlight, with a massive $400 million funding round. This single transaction alone represents over half of the region’s total financing, which says a lot about the interest generated by Telegram’s ecosystem.

This momentum comes at a time when institutional investors are gradually rebuilding confidence in large-scale blockchain projects.

Why Switzerland Remains Indispensable

Crypto Valley owes its success neither to chance nor luck. The region benefits from a progressive and clear regulatory framework, combined with economic and political stability that few countries can match. Companies find a favorable environment for blockchain experimentation here without the bureaucratic obstacles encountered elsewhere.

Moreover, proximity to traditional European financial centers creates a natural bridge between legacy finance and the new decentralized ecosystem.

Perspective

This 37% growth is encouraging, but caution is warranted. It mostly reflects a concentration of investments rather than massive democratization of crypto funding. With only 31 deals on the table, we’re talking about big checks for a few well-connected projects, not an explosion of diverse initiatives.

Nevertheless, this signal from investors suggests that certain segments of the crypto market are coming back to life and that Switzerland has no intention of surrendering its crown as Europe’s blockchain capital. Worth watching closely.
